NEGOWAT
The Negotiating peri-urban water conflicts (NEGOWAT) project (2003-2006) is a multi-partner research project financed by the European Union, DFID (United Kingdom) and ASPA (Brazil). In Chennai (India), Sao Paulo (Brasil) and Cochabamba (Bolivia) the project is focused on developing tools to better understand water-related competition and conflicts and to help facilitate negotiations between stakeholders in these areas. Synthesis book: "Peri-urban water conflicts: supporting dialogue and negotiation"

This book proposes a final assessment of the Negowat experience in the three countries where it was implemented: India, Brazil and Bolivia . A first chapter presents the current challenges in water management in peri-urban areas. The three following chapters present an overview of the Negowat experience in each of these three countries. The last chapter focuses on main achievements and lessons learnt. (Cover page y Main text ).
